Jewelry often carries stories far deeper than sparkle or shine. Sometimes, a necklace is more than an accessory - it becomes a lifeline, a tribute, or even a symbol. That is the case with the Dragonfly Semicolon Pendant.
Designed together with LINK customer Sarah Bailey in honor of her daughter Ella - who tragically passed away due to mental health struggles - this pendant carries profound meaning. It is not simply about beauty. It’s about a mother’s love, resilience in the face of unimaginable loss, and raising awareness for every family touched by mental health challenges.
For Ella, With Love
Written by Ella’s mom, Sarah Bailey
To have known our daughter Ella was to see a smile that couldn’t be contained, hear a laugh that never faded, feel a kindness like no other, and see such care in her eyes. Ella had the purest soul, loved with all she had, and truly believed love is the answer and she was right.
It goes without saying how much Ella was, and will always be loved… She made you a better person just knowing her and being around her. This world will forever be dimmer without her here.
Ella struggled with her mental health. She was desperate for change, and improving resources to those in need while she was walking her journey when she was here. Let’s keep up the fight for Ella and so many others who have suffered with a mental health diagnosis they never wanted or asked for.
The Story Behind the Pendant
The dragonfly has long been seen as a messenger from loved ones who have passed, representing transformation, guidance, and eternal connection. At the base of its tail rests a delicate semicolon - a powerful emblem of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
The semicolon became a global symbol of hope after Amy Bleuel founded Project Semicolon in 2013, aiming to promote mental wellness and suicide prevention. Today, it reminds us that life continues - that even in the darkest moments, the story is not over.
That is exactly what this pendant represents: a reminder to keep going, to honor those we’ve lost, and to carry hope with us every day. Whether worn as a tribute, a personal reminder, or a symbol of solidarity, it’s more than jewelry - it’s a message of love, remembrance, and strength.
The Two Symbols
-
The Semicolon
More than punctuation, the semicolon has become a beacon of solidarity in the fight against depression, suicide, eating disorders, and addiction. It symbolizes strength in the middle of a storm - a reminder that the story is not over. -
The Dragonfly
A timeless symbol of transformation, lightness, and connection with loved ones who have passed. For many, seeing a dragonfly feels like a message from someone they love, reminding them they are not alone.
Together, they form a tribute pendant that is more than jewelry - it is a symbol of remembrance, resilience, and hope.
The Semicolon: More Than Punctuation
To most, the semicolon is a pause in a sentence. But in the context of mental health awareness, it is so much more.
- To those living with depression, it means: “Your story is not finished yet.”
- To those battling anxiety or eating disorders, it whispers: “You still have chapters to write.”
-
To grieving families, it serves as a symbol of remembrance, honoring lives lost while carrying their message forward.
When incorporated into jewelry, like this pendant, it becomes both a personal reminder and a public statement of solidarity.
Why Awareness Matters
Mental health awareness is life-saving work. Sarah believes in raising awareness and improving resources for those who suffer. This pendant continues that mission by sparking conversations, offering comfort, and reminding wearers and onlookers that we must care for one another.
Each time the pendant catches the light, it carries a quiet but powerful message: choose compassion, choose love, and keep the story going.

Storytelling Through Jewelry at LINK Necklaces
At LINK, we believe jewelry is more than adornment - it’s storytelling you can wear. Every pendant, clasp, and chain is created with intention, designed to carry meaning beyond beauty.
Our vision has always been to help women express their authentic selves through jewelry. Whether it’s to celebrate love, honor resilience, or keep memories alive, each piece becomes part of a larger story.
The Dragonfly Semicolon Pendant is one such piece - rooted in remembrance and awareness. But every pendant we design carries that same spirit: to be worn not just for style, but for significance.
When you layer your jewelry, you’re not just creating a look - you’re writing a narrative.
